When this film was classified by the British Board of Film Censors on initial release, it was passed without cuts. However, the running time was 90:31. This would equate to approximately 86:54 at PAL speed. The Region 4 DVD is therefore missing nearly 8 minutes of footage. I have no information as to the reason for this discrepancy, but it does not appear to be for censorship reasons. It is possible that the producers cut some footage for commercial reasons, to fit the film into a double-feature schedule for example. When originally released in the US, this film was retitled Psycho-Circus and was cut by 22 minutes. The Region 4 release is not this cut version.
