Bob Harris (Bill Murray) and Charlotte (Scarlett Johansson) are two Americans in Tokyo. Bob is a middle-aged movie star in town to shoot a commercial, while Charlotte is a young woman tagging along with her workaholic husband (Giovanni Ribisi). Unable to sleep, Bob and Charlotte cross paths by chance and soon strike up a surprising friendship. They venture together through Tokyo's nightlife, having often hilarious encounters with its citizens, and ultimately discover a new belief in life's possibilities.

Directed by Sofia Coppola, Lost in Translation is an original, intelligent and wonderfully touching comedy.
