"No one should have to endure the life that Aileen Wuornos led, and we leave the movie believing that if someone, somehow, had been able to help that little girl, her seven victims would never have died" - ROGER EBERTAileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer is the must-see documentary of Aileen Wuornos, a highway prostitute who was executed in 2002 for killing seven men in Florida. Filmmaker Nick Broomfield was subpoenaed to her final appeal prior to her execution. Extracts from his original 1992 film Aileen Wuornos: The Selling of a Serial Killer were played in court. This film, made in 2002, investigates her childhood and mental state leading up to the murders and culminates with her final interview, before her execution on October 9, 2002. Aileen had a tragic life...as a child she was beaten by her grandfather, molested by a paedophile, abandoned by her mother and raped by her brother. At the age of 9 she was selling sex for cigarettes, had a baby at 13 and hitchhiked to Florida where she became a roadside prostitute. "This is the most personal and most disturbing film I have ever made" - NICK BROOMFIELD, DIRECTOR
