The raunchy box office smash that rocketed JACK THOMPSON to movie stardom.
In the first full-length screenplay by Australia's most successful living playwright David Williamson, Thompson is Jock Petersen, a married electrician and ex-footballer who sees himself as something better. Enrolling in an Arts course at University he throws himself headlong into his new life including a passionate affair with Trish (Wendy Hughes), the wife of his English professor (Arthur Dignam). As he grows apart from his wife (Jacki Weaver), Petersen's life begins to slowly unravel.
