When a little girl follows a white rabbit through a hole in the ground, she enters a fantasy land of curious characters that have fascinated children for generations. Alice encounters the Cheshire Cat, sits down to tea with the Mad Hatter, makes a narrow escape from the wicked Queen of Hearts, and also comes face to face with more odd characters: Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the weeping Mock Turtle, and the crusty Duchess. The magical, splendid atmosphere of Lewis Carroll's novel makes this a masterpiece of children's literature.
