A young English boy, Jim Hawkins, discovers a Treasure Map in the papers of an old sea dog at his mother's inn. He is joined by Squire Trelawney and Doctor Livesey, who outfit a ship to search for the treasure. Unknowingly they join a pirate crew, led by Long John Silver, sailing to recover the treasure on a tropical island. The pirates try to thwart their plans, and the situation becomes very dangerous; but in the end Jim and his friends are triumphant.
