Hollywood legend HUMPHREY BOGART stars as burnt-out writer Dixon Steele, who becomes the prime suspect of a brutal murder in this taut mystery/thriller that's brilliantly directed by NICHOLAS RAY (REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE).

Beautiful GLORIA GRAHAME - playing the woman who loves Steele but is not entirely convinced of his innocence - also stars and it's her chemistry with Bogart that provides the highlight of this suspenseful and thought-provoking character study. Deeply moving, brutally honest and perfectly executed, IN A LONELY PLACE is widely considered to be one of the best examples of the film noir genre.
