One day, three strangers came together. One thought he had nothing left to offer, one knew he had everything to give, and the fate of both depended on the heart of one woman. Former author, Paul Freeman (Golden Globe-nominee Matthew Modine) now teaches creative writing at a local prison. One student who stands out is Charles (Emmy-nominee Obba Babatunde), a convicted murderer who, after twenty-four years behind bars, has proven himself a model prisoner. Sentenced to life in prison for abetting in a homicide, Charles now wants out. He needs to prove his worth as a model citizen but only one thing is stopping him; Sharon. Sharon (Emmy-nominee Michele M. Greene), is the victim's unyielding sister, who has devoted her life to ensuring that Charles would never be paroled. Through Paul's persuasion, she allows herself to finally make contact with the man she has loathed and feared all these years. It begins with a letter.
