The Last Round recounts a pivotal moment in a boxing folklore, the moment the flamboyant, controversial Muhammed Ali, the greatest fighter on earth, and George Chuvalo, a down-at-the-heel Canadian fighter looking for his big chance, met for one of the toughest bouts in heavyweight boxing history. Set against the backdrop of the turbulent sixties, the film tells the riveting story of the “Battle of Toronto”, and the events leading up to the now legendary duel between the highly favoured Ali and unheralded local hero Chuvalo. While the formner Cassius Clay was busy re-inventing himself from sassy press darling to Nation of Islam follower and draft resister, the Rocky Balbao-esque Chuvalo was exploited by mangers and scraping through minor bouts as he desperately tried to realise his potential. After fifteen of the most gruelling rounds in fighting history, Chuvalo emerged a boxing immortal when Ali proclaimed him "the tougest man" he ever faced. This explosive DVD also features Knockout archival footage from Ali Vs Liston and Chuvalo Vs Patterson, as well as interviews with sports writing great Jimmy Breslin, Boxing guru Burt Sugar, Ali’s trainer Angelo Dundee and more.
