Part espionage thriller, part expose into the unscrupulous dealings of the British spy establishment, The Whistle Blower stars Michael Caine as Frank Jones, a businessman and patriotic war veteran whose son Bob (Nigel Havers) works as a Russian linguist in the intelligence gathering service. Events lead Jones to question the corrupt dealings of Secret Service prepared to stop at nothing, including murder, to maintain a cover-up.

Featuring a pedigree cast including Sir John Gielgud, James Fox and Gordon Jackson, The Whistle Blower pulls the plug on the class distinctions and patronage networks underlying the British Secret Service, and offers a sophisticated, suspense-packed, behind-the-scenes insight into the ruthless spy games marking the final Cold War years.
