Founded in 1967, the MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL has established itself as one of the most prestigious annual music events in the world. The extraordinary list of artists who have played there is drawn from across the musical spectrum and from around the world. Now, with the consent of the festival and the artists, Eagle Vision is making these concerts available on DVD for the first time.

Deep Purple are one of the all-time great British rock bands and they have a long association with Montreux as immortalised in their classic song "Smoke On The Water" the climax of their 1996 concert from the Montreux festival, which also includes favourites such as "Black Night", "Woman From Tokyo" and "Speed King". As a bonus there are five additional tracks from their return performance in 2000.
