Rugby in the 70s looks at the fortunes of the Australian Rugby Union team throughout the decade from 1970 till 1980. Through the eyes of former players, coaches and officials the program looks at how the Wallabies went from a team that could barely win a game at international level, to one that was beating the best teams in the world and with a brand of football that was the envy of all others. Rugby Union really came of age in Australia during the 1970s and the groundwork was laid for the future successes the Wallabies achieved in the 1980s and 90s.

The 1970s was perhaps the most interesting period in Australian Rugby Union history, filled with controversy and packed with great football. From the Springbok tour to Australia, to the Fijian walk off, to Greg Cornelsen’s four tries and the famous schoolboy tour featuring the Ella brothers, it’s all here on this DVD.
