Mad Max
The post-apocalyptic movie sensation that changed the look of Australian movies forever...
Mad Max created two international blockbuster sequels and made a star of Mel Gibson and is now even more explosive on DVD.
Since the apocalypse, desolate stretches of outback highways have become bloodstained battlegrounds. After seeing fellow police officers and innocent citizens killed and raped by marauding gangs, disillusioned motorcycle cop Max Rockatansky (Gibson), wants to leave the carnage behind, retire and spend time with his wife (Joanne Samuel) and son. But, in one horrifying moment, his life is irrevocably shattered when the brutal Toecutter (Hugh Keays-Byrne) and his biker gang murder Max's family, in retaliation for the death of a fellow gang member.
Now with nothing to lose, and savage revenge his only reason for living, Mad Max is back on the highways. One fearless man to take on the terror head first and become forever known as "The Road Warrior".

Mad Max 2
In the annals of action movies few can compare with Mad Max 2, a full-throttle epic of speed and carnage that rockets you into a dreamlike landscape where the post-nuclear future meets the mythological past. More simply, it's also one of the most mind-blowing stunt movies ever made. Before he took aim in four Lethal Weapons and starred in Maverick, Mel Gibson had already made his mark on movie history as Max, the heroic loner who drives the roads of outback Australia in an unending search for gasoline. Arrayed against him and the other scraggly defenders of a fuel-depot encampment are the bizarre warriors commanded by The Humungus, notorious for never taking prisoners when they can pulverize them instead. When the battle is joined, the results are savage, spectacular and "a smashing good time at the movies" (Los Angeles Times). With Mad Max 2 on your side, screen action doesn't get any better.

Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome
Two men enter. One man leaves. That's the law in Bartertown's Thunderdome arena. But lawmaker Aunty Entity will soon add another: Don't get Max mad! Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome stars Mel Gibson (Lethal Weapon, Maverick) for his third go-round as the title hero who takes on the barbarians of the post-nuclear future - and this time becomes the savior of a tribe of lost children. Music superstar Tina Turner steals what's left of the screen as Aunty Entity, a power-mad dominatrix determined to use Max to tighten her stranglehold on Bartertown. Directors George Miller and George Ogilvie deliver another rousing final apocalypse-on-wheels and one of the best movie fight scenes ever, as Max and the gladiatorial Blaster face off with maces, chainsaws and anything not nailed down inside Thunderdome. Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome: watch and you'll agree with the soundtrack song that "We Don't Need Another Hero."
