Legendary animator Tezuka Osamu is responsible for much of the popular imaginings of Japanese culture. A trained doctor, his passion for illustration led him to the world of serialised comics, or manga, and the overnight success of titles such as Jungle Emperor Leo and Testuwan Atomu in turn led to the screen.

Directors Suite is proud to present 13 of Tezuka's rare experimental films: Tales of the Street Corner (1962); Male (1962); Memory (1964); The Drop (1965); Pictures at an Exhibition (1966); The Genesis (1968); Jumping (1984); Broken Down Film (1984); Push (1987); Muramasa (1987); Legend of the Forest (1987); Self Portrait (1988).
