In the 1960s, European cinema was going an enormous change. The Nouvelle Vague, or the French New Wave, was assailing the established pillars if traditional narrative and popular style in cinema, proposing instead revolutionary new techniques and edgier storylines. as they created their own movement, these 'young turks' banded together to create a number of portmanteau films, where different filmmakers contribute themed segments to a single project. Paris Vu Par... unites enfants terribles Jean-Luc Godard, Claude Chabrol, Jean Douchet, Jean-Daniel Pollet, Eric Rohmer and Jean Rouche in a six part expose of life in the French Capital at the height of the swinging sixties. From the dalliances of an American exchange student in Saint Germain des Prés to a married couple's bickering in Place de l'Étoile, Paris Vu Par... is about love and romance - or the lack thereof - as well as a cook's tour of the French Capital.
