Musical hi-jinks as Deanna Durbin plays Mary Collins, a radio disc jockey. When a wealthy member of the Read family passes away he bequeaths part of his fortune to his mistress, one Mary Collins. The woman is Deanna's aunt, and Donald Read (John Dall) aided by his cousin Charlie (Donald O'Connor) want to buy her off to avoid a family scandal. However they mistake young Mary for her aunt and kidnap her from the radio station. She turns the tables on them by demanding a settlement of one million dollars., Universal took this opportunity to cast their bright new young star Donald O'Connor with their top musical star, Deanna Durbin. Also in the cast are Jan Peerce of the Metropolitan Opera, and Andy Williams who is briefly seen as one of the four Williams Brothers. The big hit was "The Turntable Song".
