Razmataz is a story about the meeting between old Europe and young black music. And the meeting takes place in the city that produces the most resonance to that event: Paris. Europe, on the cusp of cultural change, is represented in the story by a series of symbolic characters: the rich bourgeoisie, the expressionist artist from Berlin, the Italian man-of-the-world, the Parisian haute-couturier, the sporty Englishman, the lady detective-story writer...the work in its finished form involves a mixture of different techniques: narrative voice, dialogues and monologues, sound effects, drawings and soundtrack with original music and songs (including brand new Paolo Conte tracks never released before).
