Houdini meets whodunit

Jonathan Creek (Alan Davies) is a master of illusion. The brains behind magician Adam Klaus, he hides his brilliance behind a shy, shaggy exterior. He's no match for pushy, unorthodox journalist Maddy Magellan (Caroline Quentin) who has discovered another use for his unusual talents - solving impossible murders.

But just when the lateral-thinking crime-busters seem to be capturing each other's hearts, as well as criminals, a new foil to Jonathan's sharp mind appears in the form of showbiz agent Carla Borrego (Julia Sawalha).

Written by David Renwick (ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE), the BAFTA winning JONATHAN CREEK presents puzzles and tackles mysteries by fusing hard evidence with illusion and intellect. From baffling cases to bizarre suspects, the answer always lies in illusion.

This special collection brings together the feature length 1998 and 2001 Christmas specials Black Canary and Satan's Chimney (complete and uncut) with guest stars Rik Mayall (The Young Ones), Mary Tamm (Doctor Who), Bill Bailey (Black Books), Steven Berkoff (Octopussy) and Hannah Gordon (One Foot In The Grave).
