Four films starring Louis de Funès

Louis de Funès was the quintessential funnyman in France. Reminiscent of the characters created by Jacques Tati and Peter Sellars, de Funès' awkward filmic persona was beloved by French and international audiences throughout his prolific film career. Four of his side-splitting classics are collected here:

GRANDES VACANCES

When Philippe Bosquier fails his high school certificate, his irate father decides to send him to England to work as an au pair: not exactly the summer holiday the devious Philippe had in mind. In exchange, Mr. Bosquier welcomes a young English girl, Shirley, to his home. But as Philippe’s tricks mount up, he and Shirley eventually run away together: two young lovers, pursued by two furious fathers...

MR LEGUIGNON LAMPISTE

A lampman by trade, Leguignon is in trouble with the law. Although his lawyer does all he can, the Leguignon family is soon evicted and rehoused in a dilapidated new home. But when the children find treasure, there is more trouble in store for the unfortunate lampman!

PEEK-A-BOO

Robert, a theatrical producer, is rehearsing his new revue, "Peek-a-Boo!” Inspector Leboeuf, intrigued by the title, is eager to find out whether the show has any lewd scenes. Mingling with the actors, he proves to be an excellent comedian, so much so that Robert offers him a part.

THE LITTLE BATHER

André Castagné designs prototypes of boats while Fourcheaumes, his irritable employer, builds them. When they win an important race with their boat "The Little Bather", they hire a sales rep, Marcello. But the launch is a total failure, and André is sacked…
