Tyrone Power is "dashing, vigorous and romantic" (The Hollywood reporter) in this epic tale of gold, glory and forbidden love. Packed with magnificent costumes, breathtaking scenery and thrilling action, Captain from Castile is swashbuckling entertainment at its best.
When his family is persecuted by a ruthless agent of the Inquisition, young aristocrat Pedro De Vargas (Power) flees his native Spain and joins an expedition to the New World led by Hernando Cortez (Cesar Romero). But Pedro gets more than he bargains for when he falls in love with the peasant girl Catana (Jean Peters) and discovers that Cortez plans to conquer the Aztec empire . . . with only a handful of men! Now, as he journeys into Mexico toward a battle with Aztec leader Montezuma, Pedro must find a way to win Catana's hand, defeat Montezuma and restore honor to his family's name.
