After the murder, Milo is found in a river and pronounced dead. Sixteen years later, the wedding of one of the girls draws them back to the small town and memories of the brutal slaying and the chilling vision of the murderer come flooding back. Claire, a schoolteacher, takes a job and stays in town. Within one week, the other three girls are murdered. The small town is in disbelief... Claire becomes obsessed with the recurring apparition of the demonic man-child, Milo. She is convinced that he did not drown as a child.
