In the beginning God made the guitar. Then he created a new breed of guitar Gods to play it, and Alvin Lee of Ten Years After was the fastest guitar-slinger in the West. The History of Rock called Lee "The flashiest guitarist of the lot", but this is no one-man band - it's a four-wheel drive all the way, from Ric Lee's powerhouse drumming in the band's engine room through to Chick Churchill's virtuoso keyboards to the pumping, rock-steady bass of Leo Lyons. And the music? Quite simply, electrifying. Their smash hit single "Love Like A Man" is one of the most recognisable riffs in rock, and "Going' Home" still brings the house down, as this video proves... not Ten, but twenty years later.
