A special double feature DVD - The Ultimate New York Punk Collection

Disc 1: Blank Generation

NEW YORK CITY. THE MID 70’S. Music and its creative intentions were changing in a way that revolutionized the industry. Underground clubs, particularly CBGBs, played host to a dynamic range of sounds, but one thing remained constant: originality. BLANK GENERATION is the documentation of the moment in musical history when diversity blossomed and bold became beautiful.

This proto-punk anthology features the RAMONES, TELEVISION, the HEARTBREAKERS, TALKING HEADS, the PATTI SMITH GROUP, BLONDIE and several other acts of the time. Witness the incredibly real-performances of these bands, plus their backstage footage, photo shoots, and hanging out.

BLANK GENERATION is a testament to those who appreciate the spirit f underground music. It contains some of the greatest and most inspirational acts in ROCK ‘n Roll as they indirectly establish American Punk Rock. Now, their music and message come alive through visionaries Ivan Kral and Amos Poe.

Disc 2: Dancing Barefoot.

DANCING BAREFOOT is the journey of Ivan Kral (the PATTI SMITH GROUP), Rock ‘n Roll longevity, and musical revolution. Through the early days in Prague, to the late 70’s in New York City, up to present day Seattle, Ivan has played his way through rough times and changing environments.

With New York City as the primary focus, the tale of Rock ‘n Roll evolution is told by the PATTI SMITH GROUP, BLONDIE, IGGY POP and other influential members of the community. Through much of the film, the ever-popular underground venue CBGBs plays host to the artists’ unconventional views.

Although many different clips of songs are featured, the Patti Smith Group rocks through Horses, Ask the Angels, Rock ‘n Roll Nigger and the title track, Dancing Barefoot, plus they add their own flavour to several influential cover songs. Also featured are the inspirational performances of Patti’s poetry.

The era of Rock ‘n Roll eccentricity is beautifully captured in this documentary by Ivan, himself. It is a true gem for anyone who is interested in the development of music and ideology, and the progression of Rock ‘n Roll.
