In 1972 The Aztecs had the number 1 record in the country with a recording of Billy's song, the autobiographical, "Most People I Know Think That I'm Crazy" which has become an Australian anthem and a part of the fabric of Australian rock culture. That same year Billy and the band played to a record crowd of 250,000 people at Melbourne's Myer Music Bowl and headlined the legendary Sunbury Music Festival releasing a double album of their Sunbury performance which went double platinum. Billy's own words :- "All but one of the songs we played at the Boggo Road Jail concert were straight from The Aztecs' repertoire circa 1972 and played almost exactly as they were back then. We had one weeks rehearsal after not playing together for over 20 years, but bum notes and old fart jokes aside, the Aztecs, as they always did without fail, rocked like almighty f##k that night and I'm proud of this performance. Crank it up!" Billy Thorpe
