Andromeda is leading an emergency convoy of cargo ships with medical supplies to the planet of Rodina where an epidemic is killing millions. The quickest route to Rodina is through Drago-Kazov territory, so while Beka & Rommie defend the fleet from space, Dylan and Tyr attempt to neutralize the Nietzchean command centre from the ground, where they encounter an old enemy of Tyr's.

Hailed by a high guard ship, Dylan receives a recorded message from his long-dead fiancée, Sara. The high guard ship leads Dylan to the planet of Tarazed, where the descendents of the original Andromeda crew have been waiting for the return of Dylan for generations. One of these is the descendent of Gaheris Rhade, the First Officer who betrayed Dylan 300 years earlier and now wants some questions answered.
