This remarkable film was inspired by Louise J. Kaplan's Freudian text "Female Perversions: The Temptations of Emma Bovary". Following from her triumphant ture in 'Orlando', Tilda Swinton is perfectly cast as Eve, a young, very successful lawyer . Her days are a tightrope act between extreme eloquence and frost toughness on the one side and scaring vulnerability on the other. Her apparent elevation to the judges bench is interrupted by her Kleptomaniac sister, who has been arrested. Eve goes to help her sister and while staying at her flat meets a young girl struggling with her budding femininity.”
