Region 4 Winners and Losers

     Brother Bear was released on DVD in Region 1 in March, 2004.

    The Region 4 DVD misses out on:

• Two versions of the film: One in a 1.66:1 aspect ratio, the other in the original 1.85:1, 'expanding' to a 2.35:1 aspect ratio.
• Two disc set (see above)
• Booklet
• Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1 audio
• French and Spanish Subtitles
• Sneak Peeks: Aladdin Special Edition DVD, The Three Musketeers (the Mickey, Donald and Goofy version), Chicken Little, Pixar's The Incredibles, Mary Poppins Special Edition DVD, Mulan II, the Brother Bear soundtrack, and a look at Walt Disney World.
• Paths of Discovery, a 45-minute documentary looking at the making of the film.

The Region 1 DVD misses out on:

• Nothing

    I would favour the R1 for the additional extras, and the option of seeing the film in its original aspect ratio/s.
