Video Likes Clean transfers, black blacks and white whites, easy to read subtitles.
Video Dislikes Pixelation, lazy VHS-to-DVD transfers, grain, pan & scan, general bad authouring of a DVD.
Audio Likes Surround sound that really surrounds, DTS, hard hitting bass done well, updated mixes that vastly improve on the original.
Audio Dislikes Poorly done 2.0 to 5.1 'improved' mixes, DVD's that claim to be surround but are 99% 'fronts and centre' fare, Audio pops, bad synch with video, 'dub only' for anime discs, general bad authouring of a DVD.
Favourite DVDs Dogma SE R1, Clerks: Uncensored R1, The Simpsons seasons 1 & 2, Rurouni Kenshin series, Cowboy Bebop series, Great Teacher Onizuka series.
Least Favourite DVDs Clerks R4, Chasing Amy R4 (great movies, evil R4 treatment).
Most Eagerly Awaited DVDs Resident Evil, The Simpsons Season 3, Slayers boxset, Trigun series, Fruits Basket series, Futurama Season 2, Azumanga Daioh series, Chobits series.

Opinions About Specific Movies and their DVDs

Titanic More fun than a poke in the a*** with a hot poker. But just barely. Boring, slow, and dull.
The Matrix First DVD I ever bought and great demo disc. Chapter 29 has turned many a casual movie watcher into DVD fanatics at my place.
Terminator 2 Great movie, holds up well over time. A shame that the R4 was nowhere near as good as the R1 version.
Star Wars Good movies that I have watched numerous times but not really loosing any sleep over their release on DVD. When they come, they come.
Godzilla First movie I ever went to and feel alseep in. Total b******. I will not sully my player with this movie.
Independence Day Mindless action movie but, unlike Godzilla, good to just crash in front of after a hard day when you want to watch something but not really have to pay attention. Not a fan but not a hater either.
