Kingsman: The Golden Circle (Blu-ray) (2017)
CallumK

Cover Art A riotous big-screen cartoon, Kingsman: The Golden Circle may have been panned quite a bit by critics, but I personally enjoyed the hell out of the movie and I'm glad to own it. Action is suitably crazy, the dark comedy hits hard, and it's entertaining more often than not, despite its mammoth runtime. Fox's Blu-ray is highly satisfying. The technical presentation leaves little to be desired (even without a Dolby Atmos track), while there is over two hours of quality video extras to sink your teeth into. This disc is well worth a purchase. Recommended. . Sponsored by DeVoteD.

Australian director Patrick Hughesí The Hitmanís Bodyguard is an old fashioned, action packed buddy movie with a top notch cast including Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L Jackson, Salma Hayek and Gary Oldman, all in good form. It has wonderful locations the action is well staged and exciting and, in addition, The Hitmanís Bodyguard is one of the funniest, laugh out loud, action films in some time. . Sponsored by DeVoteD.

And we have a new 4K demo disc. Dunkirk's video presentation is truly in a league of its own, with revelatory video and a flawless audio mix that's true to the director's intentions. Add in the standard Blu-ray and its terrific selection of special features, and this one comes highly recommended. . Sponsored by DVD Buzz.

Dunkirk (Blu-ray) (2017)
CallumK

It certainly has its shortcomings, but Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk is nevertheless an extraordinary achievement of contemporary moviemaking, and at 107 minutes it's one hell of an experience that holds on and doesn't let go. It demands to be seen on the biggest possible screen. The Blu-ray from Roadshow doesn't leave much to be desired. A two-disc set, the technical presentation is thoroughly marvellous, while the second disc contains a satisfying selection of featurettes which takes an insightful look into the making of this blockbuster. This is one for the Blu-ray shelf. Highly recommended. . Sponsored by Family Boxoffice.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (Blu-ray) (2017)
CallumK

Not as bad as I had feared but nowhere near as good as it rightfully should be, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is another hit-and-miss entry into this tired franchise. It's only for devout fans. As expected, the technical presentation on this Blu-ray is extraordinary, with expertly encoded video and a bombastic lossless audio track. The special features are a bit on the scant side, but there's still some great stuff on the disc. Fans can buy with confidence, but newcomers should try before they buy. .
