John Wick (4K Blu-ray) (2014)
CallumK

This 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray is a huge step up over the standard Blu-ray, with improved, borderline flawless picture and sound. This is the disc I'll be grabbing whenever I feel like watching John Wick in my house. Topped off with the same solid selection of extras available on the 1080p Blu-ray (which is also included, of course), and this disc earns my highest recommendation. . Sponsored by DVD Buzz.

2307: Winter's Dream (Blu-ray) (2016)
Ray N

By 2307 the Earth has been covered by ice for 300 years; the human survivors live underground and have developed humanoids, impervious to cold, as slave workers. Of course, as we know from countless films including Blade Runner, this is not necessarily a great idea. However 2307: Winterís Dream does a good job with its premise; it is an entertaining film complete with ideas, bleak snow-covered landscapes and an interesting twist. . Sponsored by Disk Doctor.

Patriots Day (4K Blu-ray) (2016)
CallumK

Patriots Day left this reviewer with many tears in his eyes. It's enormously powerful, and it's bereft of hoary Hollywood exaggeration, making it a superb chronicle of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings. If you can handle this sort of content, Patriots Day is essential viewing which deserves a second life on home video. The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray is excellent. The technical presentation is superlative, boasting superior image quality and a notable audio upgrade compared to Roadshow's standard Blu-ray. Plus the 4K disc contains a solid selection of informative special features All in all, this disc comes highly recommended. . Sponsored by DeVoteD.

Shin Godzilla (Shin Gojira) (Blu-ray) (2016)
Ray N

Shin Godzilla is Toho returning the iconic monster, who has had more films than James Bond, to its roots. Shin Godzilla has the humour, action and mayhem one expects in a Godzilla film, and Tokyo gets trashed again; what more could fans want? . Sponsored by Atlantic DVD.

John Wick (Blu-ray) (2014)
CallumK

In any other universe, John Wick would be a direct-to-video cheapie, but it's a low-budget miracle which rightly garnered a cult following worldwide. It's exciting, visually arresting, layered, and it features Keanu Reeves in his best performance to date. Don't miss it. Roadshow's Blu-ray is competent from a technical standpoint, despite only sporting a 5.1 audio mix, and the special features are interesting and worthwhile. Recommended. .
